Wellness Wednesdays – Love Your Eyes

We kick off our Wellness Wednesday with this tip on how to love your eyes well. FOLLOW THE 20/20/20 RULE TO GIVE YOUR EYES SCREEN BREAKS. When using a screen, look at something 20 feet away (6m) for 20 seconds every 20 minutes, to avoid eye strain and headaches. #LoveYourEyes #specsaversopticianszw #specsaversopticianszim #EyeProtection #WorldSightDay

LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR CHILD REPORTS ABOUT THEIR EYES:

“My eyes are itchy,” “my eyes are burning” or “my eyes feel scratchy. ”I can’t see very well.” After doing close-up work, your child says “I feel dizzy,” “I have a headache” or “I feel sick/nauseous.” “Everything looks blurry,” or “I see double.” If one or more of these signs appear, take your child to an eye doctor right away. BE AWARE OF WHAT YOUR CHILD’S EYES LOOK LIKE:

❗️Eyes are not aligned; one eye looks out or appears crossed. ❗Red-rimmed, crusty, or swollen eyelids ❗Watery or swollen (red) eyes (Source www.milwaukeeeyecare.com) #eyehealth #specsaversopticianszim #specsaversopticianszw #childrenseyehealth #eyecare
